Policy:
Even a relatively stable population changes over time. Immigration and changes in cultural moves lead to a need for our practice to move with the times and become aware of the needs of differing client groups.
In order to facilitate this, the matter of ethnic diversity shall be discussed at a practice meeting at least once every two years. This shall include:
A review of the practice ethnicity statistics, with a focus on any changes
A presentation by a team member about the specific needs of one or more minority groups identified from the ethnicity statistics
A general discussion and brainstorming session to see if we can improve the care given to minority ethnic groups
Where it becomes clear that any group's needs are not being met, the Clinical Director shall assign a staff member to liaise with the relevant group to discuss their needs. This research shall be presented at the next practice meeting.
